A New Chapter

Welcome to a new chapter of Outside the Brass Ring!

It’s been awhile, and honestly, it’s been too long. Over two months of not posting, or writing for that matter, I’ve realized that writing is what I love to do best. And what I love to do even more is write about WWE. Like I said in my very first blog entry on this page, before you start venturing through the stories that will be posted here, I figured I’d tell you a bit about myself and this blog…

This blog, Outside the Brass Ring, did obtain the name from a former WWE superstar by the name of Phil Brooks, better known as CM Punk. The name also describes itself exactly. Reaching for a brass ring, taking a risk in order to reach your dreams. Life is full of risks and decisions in which your choice will either lead you towards or away from your dream. Not everyone will reach their dreams in their lifetime, but that doesn’t mean they need to stop. For this blog, being outside the brass ring describes a dream that is not yet ready to be fulfilled, yet is just in arm’s reach. What’s holding you back? This blog will touch on everything and anything WWE related, from rumors, recaps, or my adventures to a live event or pay-per-view!

As for me? I’m 16 years old as of this post. WWE has completely consumed my life, which basically means I throw out an “RKO Outta Nowhere” reference at least once a day. Yes, it’s gotten to the point where half of my closet is wrestling shirts from my favourite wrestlers to former wrestlers to wrestlers I’ve honestly never liked before aka John Cena. I watch Monday Night RAW every Monday, and yes I watch Thursday Night Smackdown on… Saturday. I am a proud subscriber of the WWE Network. What? Why not? I get every single pay-per-view, not to mention every other one that’s ever been made, for ONLY $9.99 a month! I am guilty of binge watching random pay-per-views until 5AM in the morning and obsessing over the superstars, and divas. When I’m not watching RAW, or Smackdown, or random pay-per-views, I’m probably somewhere drowning in the massive amounts of homework high school has thrown at me. Yes, there’s only like 3 more weeks of school left, and then summer. Summer for me? You’ll totally find me at the beach every day. Wait… rewind a bit. Summer for me? You’ll absolutely, without a doubt, find me in a concrete cereal bowl known as the O.Co Coliseum. Yeah, that sounds better! I guess I’m not there EVERY day in the summer, but I wouldn’t be complaining if I was. If I’m not at the Coliseum, and I’ve realized I’m drowning in the WWE Network, you may find me destroying books such as Wreck This Journal, or looking at pictures of tattoos and beards. And yes, I’ll probably be posting about my Wreck This Journal a lot on this blog!

Well, this seems like a good place to stop blabbering on about my life because this blog is basically my life in words and stories, or words that form stories. Well, if you’ve found yourself with the pleasure, or misfortune, of making it to the end of this blog post and if you want to read more, you’re more than welcome to sign up for email updates to know when I’m posting again. Check out my full blog view to see all of the improvements I’ve made to it such as a new Twitter feed so you can see what I’m into, a gallery so you can see my adventures so far, and a countdown so you know when my next big adventure is!

I truly do appreciate each and everyone of you who take the time to read my blog. If you want to see more, be sure to leave me some feedback here! I will be coming out with a WrestleMania blog post in the near future to share my adventures with all of you.

March Updates!

Hey, it’s graveyardpxnk!

Well, happy March 1st everybody! However, I am writing this a bit in advanced, but you didn’t need to know that. Well, anyway, March means WRESTLEMANIA right? I mean, we still have basically an entire month until WrestleMania because it’s at the tail end of March. I didn’t post a lot in February and I won’t be posting too much in March, but come April there will be plenty of blog entries to read through.

In my last updates blog entry, you can read it here if you haven’t yet, I talked about a series called “Throwback Thursday”. This series was a monthly series in which I posted parts of or entire writing pieces I had done in the past, however, I am falling out of love with that series because I feel like it isn’t going over as well as I thought it would’ve. I’m still keeping the series around, but it won’t be on a schedule. It will still be posted on a Thursday, just not once a month.

At the end of March, I’m going to a four-day event known as WrestleMania weekend. Throughout this weekend, I’ll be photographing all of the events and my dad will be doing the same. Instead of clogging up everyone’s Twitter timeline with pictures of superstars and events, I’m going to be using my Tumblr to post all of the pictures. I will also be posting them on Facebook after I compile all of the photos taken these days. My Tumblr is graveyardpxnk.tumblr.com and you can follow it if you want to see those pictures. I will also post the link on Twitter when they have been published if you just want to look at the photos then, I will also be using my Tumblr throughout baseball season and be posting videos or photos I get throughout the games I am at.

I’m sorry guys, I feel like I’ve talked about WrestleMania in every single blog entry I’ve done! Well, it’s almost here, which means I’m almost done talking about it. I have planned to do an entry per event for WrestleMania weekend which I intend to post April 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. I’ve decided to give myself two days after the events are all over because I don’t know if I will have time to write about each event during the weekend. I don’t want to wait too long until I post them, but I don’t want to rush them. I feel like starting April with five entries in a row will be a great beginning to baseball season!

Speaking of baseball season, APRIL SIXTH IS OPENING DAY. You could say that I’m a little bit excited, well, a lot a bit. With the upcoming baseball season, and the hopes of going on a road trip as well, I’m planning to start up a new series soon. This series will be called “Right Field Reviews”. I haven’t decided on how I will time this series, but I’m leaning towards either game based or homestand based. Direct message me on Twitter your thoughts on how I should post throughout the season. I have the weekend package currently, but I’m sure I’ll be going to a lot more than just Friday through Sunday. With this season ticket package, I am given 43 games. That’s 43 blog entries if I do it per game! I think I can do it. Along with extra games here and there, I hope to reach at least 50 games and entries by the end of the regular season. These next few months are going to be my biggest months of blogging, and I’m glad to take on these tasks if you guys are willing to join me on this adventure.

This is more of a random, spur the moment thought, but I received a Wreck This Journal for Christmas and I haven’t really worked on it much. I am considering creating a series for whenever I complete a page or make a lot of progress in the book to write about the background behind the drawings and quotes or lyrics on the page. I feel like this would be a more creative take to blogging in which the blog entry would be more photo heavy rather than typing heavy. I think I will start this within the first few days of March because there is going to be such a huge gap (again) between blog posts.

Also, I’m planning to make my blog entires longer and better written. I honestly just sit down and type these entries without any editing whatsoever, which is the reason for any spelling or grammar errors within entries. I am hoping to change that by peer editing everything myself, but humans do make errors. I really want to get into a system of writing and editing so my blog can slowly evolve into a better blog. I don’t have someone that is willing to read through and peer edit my entries before they are posted anymore, so I’m going to have to start doing that myself. Even though I feel like it would be beneficial to peer edit my own work, I know it will double the time it takes me to write and publish my work. I started this blog for fun and didn’t know how often or if I would post much on this, but I’ve fallen in love with it and want to post everyday. I just don’t have enough going on in my life in order to post everyday. With baseball season coming up, though, I will have more stuff to talk about.

If you hadn’t noticed, I made some renovations to my blog concerning the look of it. I created a new tagline that reads “Just a girl reaching for her brass ring,” to tie into the title of my blog, Outside the Brass Ring. I have my social media links posted on he front page now instead of a separate menu. From left to right my social media links are, my Twitter, my Instagram, my Ask.FM, my Tumblr and then my Vine. I also have added new “featured images” which appear at the top of each entry I publish. I also have a column (or drop down menu on mobile devices) that includes my most recent posts including the date of publishing, a calendar in which you can view posts by a publish date, and my archives where you can search for posts by month.

I really appreciate each and every one of you guys who take the time to read my entries. It gives me motivation to keep writing even if I get one view per post. It makes me smile when I see you guys favourite or retweet my tweets about my entries. It just makes me really happy that you guys are taking time out of your day to read or even glance through my posts. I didn’t know what was going to happen when I created this blog, but I did it anyways. It was honestly a shot in the dark chance for this to go well or not. I would say it’s going well so far. Thank you so much!

If you have any questions about anything to do with my blog or not, leave them at ask.fm/graveyardpxnk and I will answer them in next month’s updates post. If there end up being more than 10 questions at the end of the month, I’ll make a separate most for them, but it don’t see that happening currently. If you have anything that you want to ask me and have answered before the next month, direct message me on my Twitter and I will definitely get back to you as soon as I see it!

I’m Back! & February Updates

Hey, it’s graveyardpxnk!

Well, I’m back to posting, but I’ve decided not to rely on a schedule because that’s what made this stressful. I’ve found new inspirations to write and I hope I’ll be able to continue doing this for as long as my fingers will type. Everything is coming together within the next few months, so I won’t have a lack of events to write about. I plan to make two series on this blog, which will be the only scheduled posts. One, I’ll be continuing the “Throwback Thursday” series every first Thursday of the month. Two, I’ll be posting a monthly update post every 1st of the month. Those will be the only scheduled posts, but there will be plenty more throughout the months, don’t worry!

With baseball season starting in a few months, I hope I’ll be able to write about the games I attend. I don’t know how I’ll be doing these posts, but there’s plenty of time to figure that out. I’m thinking about doing a compilation of each home stand, talking about each game I went to, and including many pictures from these days. I might also do posts about giveaways, fireworks, or any special events that happen throughout the season.

On February 8, I will be attending the Oakland A’s FanFest, an all-day event dedicated to the fans. I’m sure I’ll sit through at least one Q&A session, if not more, and I will try to share some of those with you guys in an entertaining way. I hope to explore a bit and photograph some very cool things this year, but I don’t know what to expect. I’m going with only my brother-in-law, James, this year, but I’ll probably run into some familiar faces from the right field bleacher crew and that’ll be fun!

In an earlier blog post, I shared with you guys that I’ll be at WrestleMania, which is totally awesome. Recently, I have discovered that my dad will be accompanying us to at least WrestleMania and out Axxess sessions, if not more of the events. I know he’ll be taking a lot of pictures, which I’ll be sure to snag and put in my entries. However, I don’t know when he’ll be able to give them to me, so my blog posts might be delayed due to the fact that I don’t have pictures. I will be taking some pictures throughout the days as well. With all of the events at WrestleMania, I still have not decided how many posts I will dedicate to the events. I could do a long post and include everything that happened over the weekend, but I still have not decided. If I do that, I’d have time to collect some pictures, but it may be posted in the beginning of April. With that being said, I will still post on Twitter and Instagram throughout the entire weekend so be sure to follow me on both of those to see that content!

If you have any questions, leave them at ask.fm/graveyardpxnk and I will answer them in next month’s updates post. If you’d like them answered before then, leave it in the question.

2015 is looking to be a great year, and it’s only just begun!

Outside the Brass Ring

Hey, it’s graveyardpxnk!

Welcome to my brand new blog, Outside the Brass Ring. Before you start venturing through the stories that will be posted here, I figured I’d tell you a bit about myself and this blog. First of all, this blog will mainly focus on WWE, whether that be rumors, recaps, or my adventures to a live event or pay-per-view! Throughout the course of my blogging experiences, I’m sure I’ll have plenty of non-WWE related topics to touch on, which will also be published within the depths of this blog. So, basically, this is my life in words and stories that you all have the pleasure, or misfortune, to come across. As of this post on December 11th, 2014, I am 15 years old and currently in my sophomore year of high school. I’ve been watching WWE for the majority of my life, which has been pretty awesome! Along with that, I’m pretty obsessed with the Oakland A’s, which means there will more than likely be numerous posts about them.

Other than that, I’m a pretty simple girl who enjoys writing, wrestling, and baseball; as well as tattoos and beards!
